Method:

Progression, not perfection.

At Saddlewerkz, we believe in progression, not perfection.

Every learner is different. Two people may be learning the exact same skill, yet require completely different types of help to achieve it.

That is where good coaching matters.

Our coaches do not simply demonstrate a skill, tell a learner to try again, and celebrate every attempt with a “Good job!”

We observe.
We identify.
We adapt.
We progress.
— every lesson, every learner
The Coaching Cycle:

Observe → Identify → Adapt → Progress.

Four steps, in order, repeated for as long as the lesson lasts. The sheet on our homepage is a real first-lesson record of exactly this loop.

1

Observe

Understand what the learner is actually doing. Not what they say they are doing, and not what a beginner usually does: where their eyes go, what their hands grip, which foot they trust.

2

Identify

Determine the specific barrier preventing progress. Fear of tipping and a lack of balance look the same from a distance and need opposite fixes.

fear of falling
3

Adapt

Tailor the coaching intervention to that individual. What exactly do they need? More repetition? More time? A specific cue? A lower saddle. A smaller step. A different physical cue. More repetition, or simply more time.

Progress

Build on what has improved and determine the next step. Every small improvement matters; every learner has a starting point, and the job is to find what comes next.

Because at Saddlewerkz, we don’t just ask: “Did they do it?”

We ask: "Why can’t they do it yet, and what do they need from us to get there?"
Same skill:

Different solution.

A learner may be struggling with the same skill as someone else, but the reason they are struggling could be completely different.

One learner
may need clearer instructions.
Another
may need the skill broken into smaller steps.
Someone else
may need more repetition, a different physical cue, greater confidence, or simply more time.

The skill may be the same. The solution may not be.

Our coaches are trained to look beyond the obvious performance and identify what each individual learner specifically needs to move forward. We believe that effective coaching is not about giving everyone more encouragement. It is about giving the right help, at the right time, in the right way.

That is why we focus on individual progression rather than perfection. Every small improvement matters. Every learner has a starting point. Our job is to understand that starting point, identify what comes next, and help them get there.

Safe cycling:

The goal is the public path, not the stadium.

Learning to balance is the start. We coach every learner to appreciate safe cycling on Singapore’s public paths, because that is where they will actually ride.

No booking system, no forms that go nowhere. A message reaches a coach, and you’ll usually hear back within the day.
